INEC presenta las proyecciones de población hasta el 2032, este 19 de febrero
The INEC is officially releasing demographic components and population estimates for the next decade, derived from the 2022 census, alongside data on census undercount. This information, developed with technical support from CELADE, serves as a crucial input for development planning and informed decision-making, ensuring that future policies are based on reliable, granular geographic data. Concurrently, an independent committee evaluates the census’s execution, focusing on principles like transparency, objectivity, and impartiality. The final report will assess key operational phases, including cartography and data security, providing recommendations to improve future statistical operations. This rigorous oversight aims to guarantee the reliability of results, addressing previous security concerns and public distrust related to data usage. This process is vital for open data because it establishes a transparent, verified foundation for national statistics. By making these demographic updates and evaluation insights public, stakeholders can trust the integrity of the data used for governance. This transparency fosters accountability and allows researchers and citizens to utilize accurate, official statistics for independent analysis, strengthening the overall ecosystem of public information and democratic oversight in Ecuador.
