Gobierno Abierto: UNL recibió un premio internacional

The Open Government Portal of the National University of the Litoral has been recognized as a leading academic practice in Ibero-America by United Nations agencies, highlighting its successful integration of transparency, participation, and collaboration. The jury praised the initiative for its innovative, highly visual approach and its emphasis on participatory budgeting, establishing it as a replicable and robust model for other universities in the region. This acknowledgment underscores the value of multidisciplinary institutional commitment in driving open government policies through the effective use of information and communication technologies. This recognition is significant for the open data community, as it validates the power of universities as key actors in improving public policies and democratic processes. By transforming raw information into accessible, visually engaging assets, the university demonstrates how open data can foster civic engagement and accountability. The award encourages other institutions to adopt similar holistic strategies that go beyond simple data publication to create actionable, user-friendly platforms that serve both internal and external stakeholders. The broader relevance lies in the shared learning environment created by such awards, which facilitate the exchange of best practices across borders. The event resulted in a declaration setting future objectives for the Academic Network of Open Government, reinforcing the idea that open data initiatives are most effective when they are collaborative and standardized across the region. Ultimately, this case illustrates that open data is not merely a technical requirement but a strategic tool for strengthening transparency and fostering a culture of open governance in higher education.
