In the context of the Dominican Republic, significant progress has been made in strengthening access-to-information regulations and implementing integrity mechanisms. The public administration has adopted information technologies to streamline procedures and create unified platforms that facilitate interaction with citizens. These improvements in interoperability and transparency portals enable more direct public scrutiny, empowering civil society to actively participate in policy formulation and ensuring a management system more responsive to emerging social demands. The relevance of this article to open data lies in the fact that government transparency is the necessary foundation for effective access to public information. The democratization of administration requires that data be accessible, understandable, and usable by any individual, thereby making open data an essential tool for accountability. Without a robust and open data infrastructure, citizen participation and institutional trust cannot be sustained, making open data an indispensable pillar for modern governance and sustainable development.
