INAI: En México hay reticencia al escrutinio
Blanca Lilia Ibarra, President of the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection (INAI), has denounced political pressures and a lack of scrutiny at the global level. She assumed leadership of the Integrity Network, emphasizing that the failure to appoint commissioners undermines fundamental human rights and the culture of integrity necessary to combat corruption. She presented a strategic plan for 2023–2025 focused on overcoming common adversities such as social crises and economic stagnation. The network, composed of institutions from four continents, aims to demonstrate its value through concrete results in the face of these systemic challenges. This initiative is relevant to open data because it links institutional transparency with data protection and access to information. It reinforces the importance of open data as key tools for ensuring public integrity, reducing corruption, and protecting citizens’ rights in an international context marked by political fragility.
