Nasdaq - listed Equinix to open date centre in KL

Malaysia has announced plans to open a data centre in the city of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of the Asean region, ahead of its first major expansion in its territory in October. However, it is expected to become the third largest in Asia-Pacific markets in Malaysia, as it looks set to expand the countrys digital infrastructure capacity. But ASEAN (Asean) region is now the world s second biggest economy, and it has been given the go-ahead for the first time in nearly two decades, with the launch of an e-commerce giant planning to move into Malaysia with two new data Centres across the two cities in South East Asia and South Asia. The company says it will increase its investment in 5G technology and businesses in this region to boost their growth and expand its business in an area where they are increasingly connected to the nation, but the company has said it wants to create another digital connectivity hub for Malaysia to be able to attract investors and multinationals with its own presence in Singapore and Malaysia. But why is it so important for those entering the Asian region of Asia - including the Malaysian capital, Malaysia and the UK, to provide further access to digital technology, digital services and services.
