Necesita México una Ley de Ciberseguridad: INAI
Mexico urgently needs to update its cybersecurity and data protection laws to safeguard citizens’ privacy in the face of rapid technological advancements. The current regulatory framework is outdated, prompting calls for new legislation that addresses these critical gaps in national security and fundamental rights. The National Institute for Transparency has implemented integrated technological solutions, including artificial intelligence tools, to secure digital innovations and enhance public access to information. These initiatives aim to facilitate data requests while ensuring the integrity and security of the national transparency platform. However, significant barriers such as inadequate education, poverty, and infrastructure limitations continue to hinder effective information submission by obligated entities. Addressing these structural challenges is essential to ensure equitable access to data. This underscores the open data challenge: legal frameworks must evolve alongside technology to overcome systemic inequalities that prevent full public participation and transparency.
