The General Comptroller of the Republic (CGR) has identified significant irregularities in the execution of the 2022 National Census by Paraguay’s National Institute of Statistics (INE). Despite funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) aimed at strengthening the national statistical system, the audit revealed serious procedural failures, including improper expenditure classifications and a lack of adequate controls over field operations.
