La Inteligencia Artificial en Argentina: ¿suficiente con buenas intenciones?
Argentina has established a regulatory framework for transparency and data protection in artificial intelligence, aligning with international standards. However, the article concludes that statements of intent and the creation of programs are insufficient without solid operational management and significant investment. The real challenge lies in transforming these ethical principles into concrete measures that ensure the safe and responsible use of technology, preventing regulation from becoming mere empty formalism. The effectiveness of these policies critically depends on the State’s capacity to guarantee information security. The current vulnerability of government systems, evidenced by data breaches and delayed controls, highlights the urgent need to implement robust preventive actions. While the private sector drives growth through AI, the government must ensure that public institutions not only comply with regulations but also demonstrate effectiveness in protecting citizens’ rights in the face of growing algorithmic power. This issue is relevant to the open data community because effective transparency is a prerequisite for public trust in openness initiatives. If personal data are not adequately protected through rigorous management rather than mere rhetoric, the ethical foundation necessary for sharing information is undermined. For open data to be sustainable and benefit society, it is imperative that regulation translates into a secure and accountable technological infrastructure that protects privacy while fostering innovation.
