Enhancing Disaster Resilience through Community Participatory Mapping : A Case of Wajir County , Kenya - Kenya

A project aimed at developing a community disaster resilience has been launched by the Red Cross Society (KRCS) and other key stakeholders in Kenya. The BBC s Africa Eye looks at the challenges facing the project. Why is it designed to help the community respond to climate-related damages and how it can be tackled by floods. But What is the impact of environmental threats, which could cause severe earthquakes across the Kenyan province of Wajir, and why does it be likely to be able to survive without their ability to recover from hazards such as droughts or tsunamis? This is one of the most serious questions being discussed in the UK and the world - and what is going on for the BBC to find out when it comes to its impact on communities? These are the key questions that are often asked by BBC Radio 5 News presenter Larry Madowo, who went to the UN to meet scientists who have been involved in efforts to tackle this crisis, writes BBC Africa.
