It provides open data from 150 Indian cities and plans to expand to over 4,000 Urban Local Bodies. This portal aims to give comprehensive information about urban life, like diesel usage, water quality, healthcare spending, slum population, and road accident deaths. The goal is to create new systems and make data collection easier in 14 sectors.
Open data is very important because it helps with making decisions transparently and with knowledge. It lets people, organizations, and governments access and analyze information that was hidden before.
