Inteligencia Artificial y equidad de género: ¿colaboremos?

Artificial intelligence inevitably reproduces the historical and gender biases present in culture, as it is fed by the information accumulated to date. Ignoring this aspect is insufficient; rather than erasing the past, we must learn to use technology responsibly, critically analyzing history to build a fairer future. The solution does not lie in eliminating data, but in an ethical interpretation that transforms these realities into tools for equity. A practical exercise demonstrates that specific interventions, such as clear instructions demanding equity and a gender perspective, can effectively mitigate stereotypes in generative text and image tools. Beyond prompts, users play an active role in training machines. By providing feedback on unethical behaviors, people directly contribute to improving models, taking responsibility for shaping their development toward more inclusive standards. This approach is fundamental for open data because it underscores that the quality and ethics of AI systems depend on the diversity and representativeness of training data. Mitigating bias requires constant collaboration between creators, who must prioritize representativeness, and users, especially educational institutions that promote critical use. Only in this way can we ensure that technology serves as an instrument of empowerment rather than discrimination, truly reflecting the values of a democratic society.
