Raxio, a top data center company in the US, opened a new facility in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It cost $30 million and has Tier III certification. The center has space for 800 racks and 3 MW IT power, meeting the area’s growing IT needs. It wants to attract local and international service providers like mobile operators, banks, and cloud services, focusing on being eco-friendly to promote data sharing.

CEO Robert Mullins sees the center in Ethiopia as an important hub for connections, part of Raxio’s plan to expand in Africa. The company wants to do the same in other African countries like Ivory Coast, Mozambique, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, promoting collaboration and data availability.

Raxio’s approach of offering open and shareable data services helps meet the region’s increasing IT needs and emphasizes the importance of public access to data infrastructure. This sets a good example for the industry, creating a more connected digital environment that benefits the development of a transparent and collaborative data system.
