In Photos : Astronomy Photographer Of The Year 2024 Shortlist Revealed

The Royal Observatory has announced the winners of this year’s Astronomy Photographer of the Year - a spectacular aurora borealis which appears to show the Milky Way behind the show of meteor showers in Iceland and the Arctic Henge in Kumamoto, Japan, in December 2024. The overall prize is expected to be released. But ¿ What is the competition really worth enough to celebrate the world s biggest astronomical awards? The BBC looks at the shortlist of images shortlisted by amateur and professional photographer Carina Letelier Baeza, who has been submitted to the BBC Sky at Night magazine, including the Arctic Dragon and another finalist for the award, and is set to take part in an exhibition in the National Maritime Museum in Tokyo, on Thursday, September 14. The competition is due to begin next week. These are the final entries for those who have taken their first appearances on the night sky and skyscapes across the country, as they are being revealed on Saturday, 9 September, to find out who won the best picture of Earth and Earth in its latest year of its competition, with hundreds more than 3,500 submissions, from amateurs and amateur photographers from around the planets. Here are five short categories for this award. This year, we announce the names of three nominees, but what could be the most successful sighting of our skies that have been captured by scientists from all over the continents?
