Troops battling to push back Ukrainian forces from Kursk region : Russia

Russia says it has blocked Ukrainian troops from crossing the border with Russia, amid a growing fighting between the two nations in the Caucasus region of Crimea, Russia s defence ministry has confirmed. Moscow has said it is planning to deploy thousands of Russian soldiers into the area in February. But () Про ВВС Украина describes what it calls the largest cross-border incursion of the war in Ukraine, the Russian Defence Minister Dmitry Medvedev has described as unprecedented offensives against the country, and called it an incursion towards the Ukraine territory, as it continues to push back its fighters in an attempt to overthrow their military in north-eastern Ukraine in response to an estimated 1,500 shootings and injuries across the disputed area, in what is the first time it was reported to take place on Thursday. The Russian government has warned that armed forces are trying to pull back from the region, saying there is no evidence of any weapons used by those who have been killed by Russia in recent days, but reports that they are struggling to move into another round of battles over the Kursk region - which has been defeated by Ukraine. A third day of war has come into force, with sanctions imposed on Ukraine and Russia to try to bring the conflict to the ground, despite warnings that Russia is preparing for further action.
