Universal declaration required to protect digital rights of all , says T . V . Mohandas Pai

At the 40th National Conference of the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) in Mangaluru, T.V. Mohandas Pai, the Chairman of the conference, emphasized the urgent need for a universal declaration of digital rights to safeguard individual digital rights against the growing influence of global digital monopolies. Pai highlighted the importance of legal experts deliberating on this issue to ensure that digital rights are legally protected. Drawing parallels with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights established in 1948, Pai argued that a similar declaration is now necessary to address the challenges posed by digital monopolies. He expressed concern over the unprecedented global domination of digital monopolies, which can manipulate public opinion through open-access data and social media. Pai stressed the need for a global compact to protect digital rights, asserting that they cannot be controlled by contracts. He also called for the creation of high-quality jobs in the country and the use of technology in educating children. Governor of Andhra Pradesh, S. Abdul Nazeer, echoed Pai s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of job creation and quality education for the youth. He also called for a solution to reduce the growing number of litigations before courts, which mainly involve civil and criminal cases from rural areas. The conference, themed India@2047: Human Capital for a Developed India, was held in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management. The event aimed to address the challenges and opportunities in human capital development in India, with a focus on creating a developed India by 2047.
