This tool quantifies the expenses families allocate to food, clothing, housing, and, crucially, to care tasks for children under 12 years of age. The results show that care costs represent a significant portion of total expenditure, especially in the early years of life, underscoring the economic burden associated with child-rearing. The relevance of this report for open data lies in its pioneering approach to monetizing care work, an area historically invisible in traditional economic statistics.
