One Nation One Data portal will streamline data collection and access: National Board of Accreditation Chairman

The Union Education Ministry’s One Nation One Data initiative aims to streamline higher education data management by centralizing institutional records on a unified portal. This system allows education agencies to access necessary information efficiently while enabling institutions to provide additional specific data upon request, reducing administrative redundancy. A key component is the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry, which assigns unique student IDs linked to Aadhaar. This creates a comprehensive, portable record of academic and non-academic achievements, giving students control over data sharing and allowing employers to verify credentials easily. This development is critical for open data as it promotes standardized, interoperable educational datasets. By enabling seamless, consent-based data flow between institutions, agencies, and employers, it enhances transparency and accountability in higher education while fostering a more connected and efficient academic ecosystem.
