NANSO questions absence of special schools’ results
The recent release of exam results in Namibia excluded data for special schools, highlighting a critical gap in educational transparency. This omission raises serious concerns about the prioritization of special education and whether students with disabilities are truly being included in national assessments. Such exclusion undermines the principle of equity in education, potentially masking the actual performance of vulnerable learners. Without specific data, it becomes impossible to design tailored interventions or ensure equitable resource distribution for these students. This issue is vital to open data because transparent, inclusive statistics are essential for holding institutions accountable. Publishing comprehensive data for all student groups enables better policy-making and ensures that marginalized communities are not overlooked in systemic improvements.
