Eliminar organismos autónomos desarmó a los ciudadanos: SNA
The institutional reconfiguration following the elimination of the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection (INAI) represents a critical setback for transparency, as it concentrates supervisory authority within the federal Executive Branch itself. This centralization eliminates the autonomy necessary to ensure accountability, returning to the political sphere the discretion to decide what information to disclose and whether to pursue acts of corruption, thereby fundamentally weakening the balance of powers. The erosion of access-to-information mechanisms transforms exceptions into the norm, leading to greater vulnerability for citizens. This context fosters impunity, as omissions and the abuse of restrictions allow irregularities to remain hidden, hindering not only administrative oversight but also the criminal prosecution of public officials who fail to fulfill their duty of transparency. Meanwhile, the paralysis of the National Anti-Corruption System exemplifies the risks of complex structures lacking sustained political support. The absence of a quorum in key committees obstructs the coordination of anti-corruption efforts, demonstrating that although prevention is essential for changing mindsets, its implementation is undermined when institutions lack real authority and autonomy in the face of existing power dynamics.
